Maintenance Team Leader

Looking for a maintenance leadership role where your expertise helps create a safe, welcoming environment for children and families?

As a Maintenance Team Leader at Robin House, you'll lead a small team responsible for maintaining the hospice buildings, grounds, equipment and essential services that underpin everything we do. You'll combine technical expertise with people leadership, ensuring our estate remains safe, compliant and fit for purpose while supporting children, families, staff, volunteers and visitors.

Working closely with the Estates & Operations Manager, you'll coordinate planned, preventative and reactive maintenance activities, oversee statutory inspections and compliance programmes, manage contractors and suppliers, and provide leadership and support to maintenance and gardening staff and volunteers.

This is a varied role offering genuine responsibility and autonomy. From managing service contracts and ensuring fire safety compliance to supporting estate improvement projects and leading your team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring Robin House continues to provide an exceptional environment for the families who rely on CHAS.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have skills and experience in the following areas:

• Significant experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role, covering a range of building maintenance disciplines including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, joinery and general building fabric.
• Strong knowledge of statutory compliance, health and safety legislation, fire safety requirements and safe systems of work.
• Experience planning, prioritising and coordinating maintenance activities, contractors and service providers.
• The ability to lead, motivate and support a small team, helping colleagues and volunteers perform at their best.
• Experience working in a customer-facing or sensitive environment where professionalism, discretion and compassion are important.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement when managing competing priorities and responding to operational issues.
• Confidence using Microsoft 365 applications and maintaining accurate records and compliance documentation.
• A current driving licence and ability to travel between sites when required.
