Full Job Description
Job Description
Based at either Bruce House, Arbroath or Angus House, Forfar. The final base location will be agreed with the successful candidate.
This job is workstyle 4 - Hybrid
You will have the opportunity to benefit from our flexible and agile working practices. This means you will work from a variety of locations, working from council buildings, working in service user’s locations and site visits and you can work from home to best suit your work, meetings and collaboration.
Work is carried out at different locations and employees are office desk based for less than 50% of their working time. Additional time may be spent when required in a council building to use collaborative spaces or for meetings, training and mentoring purposes.
Employees may cover geographical areas and/or be required to travel across Angus. Duties are carried out in the field e.g. at service user’s homes, site visits, etc. and therefore limited time spent at a single location. Tasks can be carried out remotely, with no need for a fixed work location, although front line services may require a team zone. Employees can work from a range of council locations by hot-desking, connecting to WiFi spots. Part of the time is spent working from home.
You will work either 35 (GTCS registered only) or 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The salary scale for this job is Education Support Officer (GTCS registered only) or the equivalent on the Local Government salary scale (36.25 hours).
You will ensure effective early years provision through direct engagement in supporting children’s learning by providing advice, support and direct intervention to staff and children. You will support and advise Head Teachers/Managers, private and voluntary sector managers and childcare and learning providers across Angus. You will be responsible for effectively deploying staff to ensure quality funded ELC provision in Angus.
You will provide effective and visible leadership and innovatively manage teams to support in securing and sustaining the necessary changes in culture and practice to ensure that these teams perform well and in line with corporate/directorate/service aims, goals and objectives. You will also provide direction for teams; engage, motivate and inspire others; support the transformational change agenda; give a sense of purpose; and role model the Angus Council values.
You must either be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland or have equivalent registration with a relevant regulatory body.
