Full Job Description

As a Manager, you will work across the core disciplines of legal engineering, legal operations, solutions architecture, technology implementation, and client relationship management. These responsibilities require a solid understanding of how legal teams operate and a practical focus on effective technology adoption. You will manage the client relationship and take responsibility for their journey from initial pilot through to full-firm adoption. Maintaining continuity across this process is important: familiarity with a client's working practices, culture, and adoption patterns built during a pilot informs a smoother rollout. Your role is to preserve that institutional knowledge while helping to identify sell-on opportunities. What you will be working on:

  • Managing end-to-end delivery of legal engineering engagements across law firms and in-house legal departments taking full ownership of the client relationship
  • Acting as a thought partner to leaders on their AI adoption journey, building trusted relationships, identifying high-value opportunities to scale technology use, addressing pain point, and helping clients navigate one of the biggest shifts in how their legal business operates
  • Designing and leading tailored training and enablement programmes that make AI tools feel relevant and credible to lawyers, understanding that some will be enthusiastic early adopters and others will need different approaches
  • Being the voice of the client inside the Legal Engineering practice, surfacing what you are learning from engagements so that it directly and consistently informs how the practice develops its propositions, methodology and service design
  • Helping clients evaluate the ROI and commercial impact of AI adoption across their workflows and practice areas building a compelling, evidence-based case for sustained investment in language that senior legal stakeholders find credible
  • Building and scaling reusable best practice frameworks and playbooks from each engagement, and actively contributing to business development
  • What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Supporting the strategic scoping of engagements, owning multiple workstreams and deliverables, and applying knowledge of the client's legal context and organisational dynamics to shape AI-enabled recommendations
  • Overseeing the design and implementation of AI-enabled solutions, including workflow builds, GenAI platform configuration and agentic solutions
  • Owning and leading client meetings and workshops, communicating clearly and concisely, managing client interactions, and proactively escalating risks
  • Designing and delivering tailored enablement across firm-wide awareness sessions through to practice-specific training and one-to-one coaching with early champions adapting your approach to the priorities of each organisation
  • Contributing to scope documents and statements of work, managing engagement budgets, and taking accountability for steering work in alignment with objectives
  • Managing Consultant and Analyst grades, reviewing deliverables, providing timely feedback, and using PowerPoint, Excel, PairD and Legora as delivery tools
  • Leading bid workstreams, drafting tender responses, contributing to account management and new offer development, and proactively identifying new opportunities from client engagements

Demonstrable experience in legal engineering, legal technology or management consulting, with a strong track record of delivery across complex, multi-workstream projects
  • You come from the world of law, from a top-tier firm, an in-house legal team, or a career spent closely alongside legal professionals and know how legal teams think, work and sometimes struggle
  • Tech-curious and product-savvy in a meaningful sense: you lead technical conversations with clients about GenAI, workflow automation and agentic AI with confidence and know how to make complex technology feel accessible
  • Translating between law and technology is second nature to you, you make technical concepts clear to lawyers and reality of legal work clear to engineers
  • You understand how to evaluate and improve existing legal processes through new and emerging technologies, and you can build a credible, evidence-based business case for doing so at senior client level
  • Proven experience managing and developing people; strong engagement management skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, PairD and Legora. Relevant certifications such as Prince2, PMI/APM, Prosci or Lean Six Sigma are an advantage

  • Today's world requires a new approach to the delivery of legal services. As legal departments and law firms face increasing complexity, volume and regulatory demands, there is a growing need for technology-driven solutions that can transform how legal work is performed. Unlike previous waves of legal technology, which slotted into existing processes or sat with specialist support teams, Generative AI has the potential to reshape every lawyer's workflow.
