Playing at the 51,700 seat Ibrox Stadium and benefitting from the world-class 37-acre training facility, the club has been a dominant force in Scottish football for decades. The club benefits from a famously loyal support and the high volume of season tickets is the foundation of the top 19 best attendances in Europe. It is estimated that Rangers has a global fanbase of 4m, half of which reside in the UK.
JOB TITLE: Marketing Manager

THE ROLE
The Marketing Manager will spearhead the planning and execution of innovative, high-impact marketing campaigns across all club channels and physical branding, with the aim of strengthening the Rangers Football Club brand both locally and internationally.
This role will manage the development and delivery of marketing strategies for key club initiatives, including matchday promotions, ticketing, hospitality, partnership activations, kit launches, Edmiston House events, Soccer Academies, and stadium branding. The Marketing Manager will ensure these campaigns deliver exceptional supporter experiences, driving brand desirability, engagement, and revenue.
Overseeing a team of three Marketing Executives, the Marketing Manager will play a pivotal role in expanding the club’s global presence through targeted international marketing strategies and campaigns. Additionally, they will drive the evolution of the club’s digital marketing efforts, fostering deeper engagement with supporters worldwide and delivering measurable outcomes aligned with the club’s strategic objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning and Campaign Development
- Create and oversee comprehensive marketing plans to support core commercial revenue priorities, ensuring alignment with seasonal club campaigns.
- Develop and maintain brand calendars that effectively drive campaign success and maximize engagement opportunities.
- Build innovative campaigns from ideation through to implementation, rollout, and evaluation.
Creative Direction and Branding
- Provide clear and strategic creative briefs to the in-house design team to guide the development of all marketing campaigns and materials.
- Lead the delivery of stadium branding and physical venue dressing, ensuring consistent implementation throughout the season.
- Support the branding and dressing of events and venues, elevating the visual identity of key initiatives.
- Uphold the guardianship of the Rangers FC brand, ensuring all creative output meets high standards and aligns with brand guidelines and values.
Event Marketing and Third-Party Engagement
- Engage with third-party promoters and partners to increase the visibility and appeal of club events, maximizing revenue potential.
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand requirements and deliver on briefs efficiently, ensuring seamless activation of key initiatives.
Team Leadership and Operational Excellence
- Lead a team of three Marketing Executives, overseeing their work across various marketing categories and campaigns.
- Allocate resources effectively to support multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and goals are met.
- Implement systems and processes to maintain consistently high standards of marketing execution and supporter experience.
- Foster strong communication within the marketing team to streamline workflows and eliminate risks to project success.
Stakeholder Engagement and Brand Advocacy
- Actively liaise with internal and external stakeholders to deliver cohesive and compelling campaigns.
- Exhibit strong presentation skills to effectively communicate marketing strategies and outcomes to senior leadership and partners.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Rangers FC’s culture and values, acting as a passionate advocate for the club in all activities.
Measurement and Continuous Improvement
- Support the Head of Marketing in evaluating campaign performance, using insights to optimize future strategies and execution.
- Take responsibility for ensuring all marketing output contributes to the club’s goals of enhancing brand desirability, engagement, and revenue generation.
THE CANDIDATE
Job Knowledge and Education
- Proven experience in a similar marketing role, preferably in a high-profile, brand-focused environment.
- Strong understanding of marketing principles, including digital marketing, brand management, and campaign development.
- Familiarity with social and digital marketing tools, platforms, and strategies, with the ability to analyse performance and optimize for results.
- Comprehensive knowledge of design principles, artistic and technical composition, and branding best practices.
- A solid understanding of customer demographics and behaviour to effectively target marketing initiatives.
