Join Our Team as Marketing Manager

Dumfries & Galloway College is seeking an experienced, creative and strategic Marketing Manager to lead our marketing function and help shape how the College is understood and experienced by prospective students, employers, partners and communities across the region.

This is a pivotal role within the College, combining strategic leadership with hands on delivery. Reporting to the Director of Skills and Marketing, you will lead the development and implementation of an insight led marketing strategy that strengthens our reputation, supports student recruitment, enhances employer engagement and contributes to commercial growth.

Working within a small, agile team, you will oversee multi channel marketing campaigns, digital communications, public relations, events and brand management, ensuring all activity is impactful, measurable and aligned with College priorities.

What You'll Do

As Marketing Manager, you will:

  • Lead the creation and delivery of the College's marketing strategy, supporting student recruitment, employer engagement and commercial growth.
  • Plan and deliver integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social media, PR, events, advertising and print.
  • Lead the development and management of the College brand, ensuring consistency, accessibility and quality across all communications.
  • Use audience insight, market research and performance data to inform decisions and maximise marketing effectiveness.
  • Oversee the College website and digital channels, improving user experience, engagement and conversion.
  • Manage media relations, PR activity and external suppliers to enhance the College's profile and reputation.
  • Support internal communications and stakeholder engagement across the organisation.
  • Monitor and evaluate campaign performance, providing clear reporting and recommendations.
  • Manage marketing budgets, procurement and supplier relationships, ensuring value for money and return on investment.
  • Provide supportive leadership to the marketing team, encouraging innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.

We're looking for someone who brings:

Essential Experience

  • Leadership experience within a marketing role in a complex organisation.
  • Proven success delivering effective multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Strong experience in digital communications, social media management and content creation.
  • Experience developing and implementing marketing strategies that deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Experience using data, analytics and audience insight to improve performance and decision making.
  • Experience producing or overseeing communications, PR and brand focused activity.

Skills You'll Need

  • Excellent marketing, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong understanding of branding, customer journeys and campaign planning.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills.
  • Confidence using digital marketing platforms, analytics tools and content management systems.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop others.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high quality work.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment.

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • SCQF Level 7/8 qualification or equivalent relevant experience.

Desirable Qualifications

  • CIM or equivalent professional marketing accreditation.
  • Postgraduate qualification or advanced professional qualification in marketing or leadership.
