Mechanical Fitter

Connect Appointments is recruiting a Mechanical Fitter for a short-term contract based at a large manufacturing facility on the outskirts of Bathgate.

Our client is part of a globally recognised agricultural and food production group, operating a large, well-established production facility in the area.

What's on offer?

• Short-term temporary contract, approximately 2 to 3 months
• Rotating shifts of 6am to 2pm, 2pm to 10pm and 10pm to 6am
• 18.47 per hour, rising to 20.69 per hour with shift allowance
• Holiday cover may also be required

Please note: Own transport is essential due to the location of the site. Initial training will be carried out on day shift.

As a Mechanical Fitter, your duties will include:

• Carrying out equipment repairs and servicing in accordance with approved maintenance schedules
• Changing pumps and gearboxes
• Repairing conveyors and elevators
• Clearing blockages and troubleshooting mechanical faults
• Some welding may be required - full training provided

To be considered as a Mechanical Fitter, you will need:

• A mechanical qualification such as an NVQ, or equivalent proven experience
• Previous mechanical fitting experience with knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment
