Full Job Description

Bring your energy to Aggreko as a Mechanical Workshop Engineer based in our Service & Repair team in our Lomondgate depot. As a Mechanical Workshop Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out hands-on servicing, maintenance, repairs, and fault finding, while also getting involved in basic installation and commissioning. Power without pause. Heating, cooling and oil-free air without end. We keep our customers' worlds on. From world-class events that last a few weeks to mining operations and remote communities who rely on us for decades. What you'll do as a Mechanical Workshop Engineer:

  • Carry out fault finding, repairs, and load testing on diesel generators (20-2000kVA), including major engine overhauls
  • Assess equipment condition on return from hire, completing upgrades, modifications, and improvements to maintain fleet quality
  • Work across AC/DC electrical systems, supporting diagnostics, ECM programming, and control module configuration

    Time served apprentice or educated to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in an engineering/mechanical subject
  • Experience servicing, repairing large engines (generators, HGV, plant equipment, agricultural machinery)
  • Good organisational & communication skills
  • Good level of PC literacy including basic MS Office applications
  • Well organised and capable of keeping vehicle to GSCS standards
