Full Job Description
WGM Engineering, part of RSK Group, is looking for a MEICA Field Delivery Manager to join our E&M business stream on a permanent, full-time basis.
Working across both field and office environments, you will lead the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of mechanical, electrical and wider MEICA activity across WGM's water and essential infrastructure portfolio. You will work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Maintenance Planners, Chargehands and field teams to ensure work is properly planned, resourced and communicated, with clear accountability for delivery.
This is a key operational leadership role with a strong focus on people and performance. You will set clear expectations, support and develop field teams, improve productivity and address performance gaps, while maintaining high standards across safety, quality, technical delivery and customer service.
WGM is in a significant period of growth, supported by secured long-term frameworks across the UK water sector and a strong pipeline of essential infrastructure work. We offer the close working relationships, practical delivery focus and visibility of a specialist engineering business, alongside the scale, backing and long-term career opportunities of RSK Group.
The role will suit someone who enjoys leading from the front, developing people and creating the structure, standards and accountability that enable field teams to perform consistently.
What you'll be doing
Provide visible day-to-day leadership across WGM's mechanical, electrical and wider MEICA field-delivery teams.
Translate project programmes, maintenance plans and operational priorities into clear expectations for Chargehands, Field Engineers, technicians and subcontractors.
Lead the safe and effective delivery of installation, maintenance, repair, testing, commissioning and asset-improvement activity.
Set clear standards for safety, productivity, quality, conduct and customer service, monitoring performance and addressing gaps promptly and fairly.
Coordinate labour, subcontractors, plant, materials, equipment and specialist support across current and upcoming workstreams.
Work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers and Maintenance Planners to develop realistic resource plans, manage delivery risks and maintain progress.
Ensure compliance with RAMS, permits, safe systems of work, client requirements and WGM procedures through regular field inspections and performance reviews.
Provide clear reporting on progress, productivity, resources, team performance, HSEQ, quality and delivery risks, while supporting continuous improvement and right-first-time delivery.
A recognised mechanical engineering qualification, or equivalent vocational experience gained within a relevant engineering environment.
Proven leadership of field-based engineering, maintenance, installation or service-delivery teams.
Strong practical knowledge of pumps, valves, pipework, process plant and associated MEICA systems.
The ability to set clear expectations, manage team performance and address performance gaps constructively.
Confidence coordinating labour, subcontractors, plant, materials and workload across multiple work fronts.
A sound understanding of HSEQ requirements, including RAMS, permits and safe systems of work.
Effective collaboration with Project Managers, Project Engineers, planners, clients and site representatives to support delivery.
A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project and client sites.
Water-sector, utilities, planned and reactive maintenance, commissioning or regulated infrastructure experience would be beneficial. Qualifications such as SMSTS, SSSTS, Temporary Works Supervisor, CSCS or ECS would also be advantageous.
We are offering a competitive salary, aligned to skills and experience, with full banding available on request. The banding starts at £44k
