Job purpose: Closing Date: Sunday 20 September 2026

Contract Type: Fixed 24 months

Salary: FC3 £25,604.33 - £26,786.83 Year - 1 (50%); Year - 2 (80%)

Working Pattern: 36 hours (includes evenings and weekends)

Location: Levenmouth Area

This Youth Worker Apprentice role is an ideal opportunity for a young person who is interested in working with communities and building a career in Community Learning and Development. Applicants should between the ages of 16 and 24 yrs and living in Fife. You will support activities, events and projects that help young people learn, develop skills and have their voices heard, while working alongside experienced youth work staff. The role includes a mix of community-based, evening working, with travel across local venues. Salary is in line with the Modern Apprentice programme, on a fixed-term apprenticeship contract. What will I learn? Developing open, honest and trusting relationships to provide

opportunities for growth and development in a supportive environment

by providing planned and spontaneous informal learning opportunities

and peer interaction such as thematic discussions, project work and

team challenges.

What qualifications or qualities are required? To be shortlisted, applicants should demonstrate the ability to engage positively with young people, listen effectively, encourage participation, build trusted relationships, and work as part of a team. They should be reliable, organised, able to work flexibly, and committed to learning and development. An awareness of young people's needs and the ability to act as a positive role model are essential. Educated to National 5 level (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics, or able to demonstrate equivalent literacy and numeracy skills through qualifications, work experience, volunteering, or other relevant experience. Good IT skills, including the ability to use common digital applications such as Microsoft Office.

Applicants must be willing to complete the required core training within one year of appointment. Membership of the PVG Scheme for Children, or the ability to obtain PVG clearance, is required. The ability to travel to community venues across Fife is desirable.
