Full Job Description
Work as part of a multi-skilled team to develop and implement maintenance systems, perform repairs, and conduct planned maintenance to reduce downtime and improve site reliability. 36 hours per week split rotation via: 07:00 - 19:00 19:00 - 07:00, Planned Engineering Tasks: Perform preventative and reactive maintenance, diagnose and correct machine faults. Ensure timely completion of tasks in line with PPM plans and service level agreements. Equipment Effectiveness: Reduce unplanned downtime and improve asset reliability. Personal Development: Identify site improvement projects and seek personal development opportunities. Safety: Implement safety standards and practices. Record and report accidents and incidents. Maintain and improve workplace organization through 5S processes. Operate an effective permit to work process. Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures. Customer Satisfaction: Integrate equipment operators into maintenance processes and provide timely feedback. Report on planned work completion and asset performance. Operational Excellence: Implement best practices in asset management to ensure compliance and increase equipment effectiveness. Provide rapid repair services to minimize impact on safety, quality, and costs. Plan resources effectively for routine activities and major overhauls. Use maintenance practices that balance cost and risk to reduce unplanned work. Organisational Development: Communicate and support engineering maintenance strategy and performance. Develop technical skills and competence within the team. Manage personal performance and development with SMART objectives. Build relationships with key stakeholders to support maintenance targets. SPECIFIC ISSUES - Multi skilled engineer Maintain site services, including compressed air, electrical distribution, fire detection, and alarm systems. Ensure statutory compliance and inspections. Select and organize external contractors. Develop planned maintenance systems. Manage spare parts inventory to balance cost and risk.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE - Multi skilled engineer SVQ level 3/HND or equivalent in mechanical, electrical, or electronic engineering. Experience in continuous manufacturing operations such as solvent coating, extrusion, paper production, printing, or finishing. Experience with modern maintenance practices.
