Full Job Description
We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Night Shift Carer to join our team. You will play a vital role in ensuring the comfort, dignity, and wellbeing of our residents throughout the night.
This is a fully paid 12-hour shift, meaning you are paid for your entire shift with no unpaid break deductions.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality, person-centred care to residents during night hours
Assist residents with personal care, including toileting, dressing, and mobility
Carry out regular checks to ensure residents' safety and wellbeing
Respond promptly to call bells and emergencies
Support residents who may be awake, anxious, or unwell during the night
Maintain accurate care records and handover information to day staff
Ensure the home remains clean, safe, and secure overnight
Promote dignity, respect, and independence at all times
A caring, compassionate, and patient nature
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication and observation skills
Previous care experience preferred (but not essential - training can be provided)
Reliability and a strong sense of responsibility
Essential Requirements
Full-time availability for night shifts
Ability to travel to a rural location
Own transport is essential (no bus route available)

Abbey House is a small, friendly 15-bed residential care home set in a peaceful and picturesque rural location. Surrounded by beautiful Scottish countryside and hills, we provide high-quality, person-centred care in a warm and homely environment.
Due to our rural setting (approximately 1 mile outside Kirriemuir), there is no public transport available, so own transport is essential.
Full 12-hour shifts paid (no unpaid break time)
