Full Job Description

Join us as an Operations Assistant from our state-of-the-art Innovation Centre near Hamilton where our unique £6 million facility supports the construction sector to innovate, collaborate and grow!

BE-ST (Built Environment, Smarter Transformation) are a dynamic and innovative not-for-profit organisation, connected to over 50,000 businesses, organisations and individuals in the built environment ecosystem, with an objective to achieve a zero-carbon built environment.

The Role:

As Operations Assistant, you will be in a prime position to use your experience of providing high-quality, operational support, to assist the BE-ST organisation in general operations, finance and project coordination.

This post will provide you with the opportunity to play a vital role in presenting what BE-ST do as an organisation, as you deliver a hospitable front of house service to all visitors and use your exceptional customer service skills to ensure that everyone has a welcome experience and gets inducted to the campus as appropriate.

Your knowledge of project coordination and ability to multi-task will also put you in an excellent position to get involved in some of the innovative projects that we work on – supporting their delivery by monitoring, reporting and following up project actions.

As someone who thrives in a busy, fast-paced and innovative environment, you’ll get to build relationships across the BE-ST team, alongside industry, academic, and public sector partners, allowing you to use your initiative to support important industry activities and senior stakeholders at a high level.

We will also be relying on your high-level attention to detail and accuracy, as you help with financial matters for BE-ST, such as regular reconciliations, raising purchase and sales invoices, and processing invoices for payment.

By joining us, you’ll get to work in an equal and inclusive environment created by our friendly and high-performing team. Our values are important to us and help us all to thrive and grow.

We can support flexible and hybrid working and are happy to consider full or part-time applicants (part-time on a job share basis).

What we will need from you:

  • Enthusiasm, flexibility, and excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Experience of providing high-quality operational support
  • Experience of project coordination
  • Competency in the use of IT systems - Microsoft Projects including Excel, Word & Visio
  • Commitment to high service standards and customer focus

Benefits we offer:

This role comes in partnership with Edinburgh Napier University.

Join us and you will receive benefits such as an attractive pension with employer contributions of 20.8% and a minimum of 36 days holiday.

There are professional development opportunities, discounted access to onsite sports facilities and a wide range of other staff discounts.

Salary: £23,144 - £27,131 per annum (Grade 3)
