Paralegal | 23 Month Contract | (Outside IR35) | Hybrid, 3-4 days pw Edinburgh| Starting ASAP

Day Rate: 194.38

About the role:

• Support the solicitors and counsel in their investigations into matters falling within the Terms of Reference by assisting with the preparation of formal notices to recover evidence and by analysing documents and evidence gathered
• Work closely with the records and evidence management team to redact documents and evidence, including witness statements and transcripts, to enable it to be released to parties and published on the website;
• Support the preparation of findings in fact, and the business report in due course;
• Assist with work to support the preparation of the legal team's records which will form part of the Record of the Inquiry to be transmitted to NRS
• Assist the Solicitor to assess accounts of expenses submitted by parties who have received an award of funding for legal representation;
• Prepare papers for use by counsel and members of the Inquiry's statement-taking team, and undertake administrative tasks required by the solicitors and/or counsel;
• Undertaking any other ad hoc task as required.

Essential Criteria

• Paralegal or other relevant experience
• Ability to carry out tasks independently with minimum oversight, remaining calm under pressure
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent analytical skills
• Awareness of the need for discretion and to maintain confidentiality
• Confidence with IT and high level of proficiency in all Microsoft packages including Word
• Good organisational/administrative skills
