Full Job Description
For many Part II Architectural Assistants, the challenge isn't finding a job. It's finding a role that genuinely accelerates your career.
I'm working with an internationally recognised architectural practice seeking a talented Part II Architectural Assistant to join their Edinburgh studio. This is an opportunity to become part of a highly respected design team working on complex, high-profile projects across the UK and internationally.
The practice is known for delivering architecture that leaves a lasting impact. Their portfolio spans major infrastructure, regeneration, civic, heritage and education projects, combining ambitious design with technical excellence and a deep understanding of place. Working here means contributing to projects that shape cities, transform communities and create long term value.
This role offers exposure to every stage of the design process. You will work closely with experienced architects, associates and directors, contributing to live projects from early concept development through to detailed design and project delivery. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn from some of the industry's most experienced professionals while developing the skills and experience needed to progress towards qualification and beyond.
The Edinburgh studio forms part of a wider international practice, giving team members access to a broad range of project types, scales and sectors. You will be joining a collaborative environment where ideas are encouraged, design quality is valued and professional development is taken seriously.
They are looking for someone with strong design ability, excellent communication skills and a genuine enthusiasm for architecture that makes a positive contribution to society. You should be comfortable working within a team environment while also demonstrating initiative and ownership of your work. Strong graphic, presentation and design skills are important, alongside a willingness to engage with the technical and practical aspects of project delivery.
This position would suit a Part II Architectural Assistant who is looking to move beyond smaller scale projects and gain exposure to more complex and challenging work. Equally, it may appeal to someone already working within a larger practice who is seeking greater responsibility, stronger mentorship or access to projects with greater architectural significance.
The practice places significant value on curiosity, collaboration and continuous learning. They understand that talented architects develop through experience and exposure, and they actively support individuals in building the skills required for long-term success within the profession.
Beyond the projects themselves, this is an opportunity to join a business with a clear vision for the future. Recent investment in leadership development and succession planning demonstrates a long term commitment to nurturing talent and creating opportunities for progression at every level.
If you are a talented Part II Architectural Assistant looking to work on projects that will challenge, inspire and accelerate your career development, I would be delighted to arrange a confidential conversation.
