Your new company
You will be joining a well-established and highly regarded independent chartered accountancy firm based in Glasgow's sought-after West End. Located close to Kelvingrove Park, the firm has built a strong reputation within a number of specialist sectors and offers a friendly, collaborative culture where people are genuinely valued. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint a part-time Payroll Officer to join their welcoming team.

Your new role
As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for managing a varied portfolio of payroll clients, ensuring payrolls are processed accurately and on time across both weekly and monthly pay cycles. Working closely with clients, HMRC and pension providers, you will oversee all aspects of payroll administration while ensuring compliance with current legislation and reporting requirements.Your responsibilities will include processing payrolls using Sage Payroll, submitting FPS and EPS reports to HMRC, administering workplace pension schemes and auto-enrolment duties, and responding to payroll and pension-related queries from a range of stakeholders. You will also be responsible for processing payroll calculations, including PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payments, pensions and other deductions, as well as supporting year-end payroll requirements, including P11Ds.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have at least two years' payroll experience, ideally gained within an accountancy practice, payroll bureau or professional services environment. Experience using Sage Payroll is highly desirable, alongside strong Microsoft Excel skills and a good understanding of payroll compliance and legislation.You will be a highly organised individual with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. The successful candidate will be proactive, self-motivated and comfortable managing multiple deadlines while working both independently and as part of a close-knit team. Strong communication skills and a personable approach are essential, as you will regularly liaise with clients and external organisations.
