Payroll and Pensions Officer
Grade 5 (£27,240.87 - £30,985.99 pro rata)
We are happy to discuss flexible working arrangements with applicants
Abertay is a modern university with a global outlook, rooted in its local and national communities. We have made our mark with high-quality, well-directed teaching and research, and a stimulating and enriching experience for our students.
The University is seeking to appoint a Payroll and Pensions Officer to support the delivery of its in-house payroll and pensions service. The successful candidate will bring an analytical mindset, a professional approach and a strong commitment to customer service. They will support an accurate, reliable and responsive service, while contributing to improvements and providing approachable and helpful support to staff across the University.
The role will work across the full payroll and pensions cycle, processing monthly employee and pensioner payrolls and supporting pension administration, statutory requirements, payroll checks and reconciliations. The postholder will investigate discrepancies, maintain accurate records and provide clear advice to employees and managers on payroll and pension matters.
Reporting to the Senior Payroll and Pensions Officer, the postholder will apply their technical knowledge across payroll and pensions and provide operational cover across key activities. They will also contribute to improvements of systems, processes and controls, helping to ensure the continued delivery of an effective and customer-focused service.
We are looking for a payroll and pensions professional with strong attention to detail, good analytical skills and the ability to communicate technical information clearly. You will be comfortable working to fixed deadlines, investigating discrepancies and building effective working relationships, while handling sensitive personal and financial information with discretion.
If you believe you have the skills and experience for this exciting and challenging role, please submit your application through our online recruitment system.
Please note that we will only accept applications through our online recruitment system.
