The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh is a world-leading centre for plant science, horticulture, conservation, education, and public engagement. Founded in 1670 as a physic garden for the study of medicinal plants, it attracts around one million visitors each year and holds one of the world’s most diverse botanical collections.​

Through a wide network of national and international partnerships, we pursue our mission to explore, conserve and explain the world of plants, addressing global biodiversity loss and climate change.​

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced people professional to join our dynamic People & OD team. This is a generalist Partner role, supporting two of our Divisions plus our trading company and will cover a wide variety of people-related activities. The role will focus in particular on the delivery of the diversity aim of our current People Strategy.

Applicants will need to have experience of similar generalist roles, ideally within a small team. A keen influencer, you’ll be an excellent communicator, able to develop and maintain relationships successfully at a variety of levels within an organisation, and comfortable working autonomously as part of a small team. This will be a busy role, and you’ll be someone who thrives on managing a host of competing activities, able to ride the challenge of priorities changing at short notice in the face of business needs.

Although we see this as a full-time post, we would also welcome applications from individuals looking to work on a part-time basis. If this applies to you, please specify the part-time hours you would be looking to undertake. We would be happy to consider a job share.

As this is a short-term contract, we will be looking at applications on a regular basis and may opt to close the application window before the closing date.
