Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen within the NHS Fife Women, Childrens and Clinical Services Directorate to join our innovative and forward thinking directorate. We are looking for an individual to join our team based at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy. Based in the Women & Childrens Directorate Office, your primary role will be to provide a comprehensive personal administrative and secretarial service to our Director of Midwifery and Head of Midwifery & Nursing.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team are essential. You must also be enthusiastic and have a flexible approach to working.

Working hours (shift pattern to be confirmed) will be based within Victoria Hospital however, you may be required on occasion to work across sites to include the Queen Margaret Hospital.

You should have extensive experience as a personal secretary/personal assistant and have a recognised secretarial qualification(s).

Please note the salary for this post is pro rata to part time hours.

For informal enquiries please contact Louise Laverton, Clinical Services Co-ordinator on ext 29316.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.

However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Recruiting Board.
