About The Role
Helensburgh
25 HOURS PER WEEK
Are you interested in working for an award winning social care charity?
Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone with their mental health to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be!
Each person we support has different support needs, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of their life, including monitoring their mental health, supporting them to access the local community, attend appointments, engage in social activities that will support positive mental health such as going to Jean's Bothy Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub or The Journey and local Leisure Centre.
Enable creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support are met.
The Best in You Brings Out the Best in Me
The people we support have many varied interests and hobbies and have many of the same dreams and aspirations as we do; they just too often do not get the opportunity to experience these same opportunities. A career with Enable is as rewarding as it is diverse, Personal Assistants at their best have the potential to truly bring out the best in the people we support.
Let us introduce you to David. He is just one of the many people we support:
David loves being outdoors, going for a walk (especially on those rare sunny days in Scotland) and just being as generally active as possible. He finds that being active helps his mental health, but sometimes he needs support to help keep him motivated. A typical support could be going to the shops with David to ensure he has all the essentials he needs. It could be helping him meal plan and possibly prepare a meal. Or, having a walk around his local community and stopping for a coffee and a chat or even supporting him to the gym. In his downtime, David enjoys watching movies, playing video games and just having a general blether with friends.
Sometimes he does this at the local community mental health hub, Jean's Bothy, where he meets his Peers and engages in activities that promote positive mental health and wellbeing. You might support him to go there too.
David receives a few hours support a week usually between the hours of 9am and 5pm. Sadly, it’s not always possible for David to enjoy what many people would consider these ‘simple pleasures’ without proper, dedicated support.
That is why David needs you! Will you bring your best so that David and others we support can live their best life?
About You
If you think you share the same interests and have the commitment, dedication, and above all, desire to support David to get the most out of life; then please apply now!
