Personal Assistant (Twechar) - GCIL ED AB / RC.01.25

As a Personal Assistant to my 10 year old autistic, non-verbal son, your job will be to provide predominately social assistance to him.

Your role is to enable him to be independent and participate in meeting other children outside of his home environment, achieve his potential, build friendships and take part in activities to increase his social interaction opportunities.

He needs support to stay safe and requires help with some personal care. He is fun-loving and mischievous, he can also be stubborn so you will have to be firm but fun!

If you are successfully hired; you will be employed directly by a Private Employer on a PAYE basis and will be entitled to all statutory rights as set out by Employment Law, such as paid holidays, statutory sick pay and pension enrolment (where eligible).

GCIL East Dunbartonshire is the Self-Directed Support service based in East Dunbartonshire, providing information and assistance to enable all eligible people to explore the 4 options for independent living outlined in the Self-Directed Support Scotland Act 2013.

GCIL East Dunbartonshire is part of Glasgow Centre for Inclusive Living (GCIL), which is an established Disabled People's Organisation, with many years of experience assisting people to maximise their preferred support needs.

This is a part-time role of 5 hours a week, with flexibility around how those hours are arranged, ideally some afternoons and alternate Saturdays 10am-4pm.

Rate of Pay - £17.00
