Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.  

The shift pattern is 37 hours per week five out of seven days.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated pharmacist to participate in a new Primary Care Pharmacy training role which will enable you to develop your clinical practice and work with healthcare teams within the Pharmacy Hub and GP practices. This role will support delivery of the GMS contract and improve patient care.

The post holder will undertake The Pharmacist Vocational Training Programme Foundation Framework and also work with hospital pharmacy colleagues at Inverclyde Royal Hospital.

You should have a sound clinical knowledge, good IT skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to prioritise workload to meet the demands of the service.

The objectives of the team are to improve the quality and cost effectiveness of prescribing and medicines use for patients across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. You will work closely with colleagues in the HSCP Pharmacy Team, GPs, other practice staff, community pharmacists, hospital pharmacy team, care home staff, members of the primary and acute healthcare team and central team colleagues in supporting the development and application of high quality, safe, cost effective, rational and evidence based prescribing in the Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP). 

Applicants should be members of the General Pharmaceutical Council of Great Britain. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.
