Full Job Description
We are looking for a friendly, reliable and motivated Healthcare assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day running of the pharmacy, assist customers with over-the-counter products, help maintain stock levels, and provide administrative support to the pharmacy team.,
- Welcome and assist patients and customers in a professional, friendly, and confidential manner.
- Process NHS and private prescriptions through the pharmacy system.
- Support the pharmacy team with prescription collection and administrative tasks.
- Assist customers with the selection of over-the-counter medicines and healthcare products within the scope of training and under pharmacist supervision.
- Promote pharmacy services including Pharmacy First, vaccinations, travel health services, weight management programmes, and other healthcare initiatives.
- Manage incoming telephone calls and patient enquiries.
- Receive, check, unpack, and organise stock deliveries.
- Maintain stock levels and ensure products are rotated appropriately.
- Operate the till and process customer transactions accurately.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation where required.
- Assist with merchandising and presentation of retail areas.
- Support health promotion campaigns and seasonal healthcare initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy standard operating procedures, confidentiality requirements, and health and safety policies.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and professional working environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Strong customer service focus.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Basic IT and computer skills.
- Reliable, professional, and flexible approach to work.
- Willingness to undertake pharmacy-related training., Previous experience in a pharmacy, healthcare, or retail environment.
- Experience working with the public.
- Knowledge of NHS pharmacy services.
- Completion of an accredited Healthcare Assistant or Medicines Counter Assistant qualification.
