Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Royal Hospital for Children (RHC) and Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) Pharmacy Services team. The post holder will work closely with members of the wider multidisciplinary team to implement and continually develop pharmacy services. You will be an integral member of the RHC Pharmacy Team, liaising with nursing and medical staff within Neonatology and the Intensive Care Unit.,

  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to support and develop pharmacy services.
  • Liaise with nursing and medical staff within Neonatology and Intensive Care Units.
  • Collate information on the use of High-Cost Medicines.
  • Report medicine usage figures to the directorate.
  • Support the provision of an effective medicines management service.
  • Contribute to the ongoing redesign and improvement of pharmacy services.
  • Work directly with Women & Children's Directorate Management Accountants.
  • Provide support within both pharmacy departments and near-patient clinical areas.

    National 5/Standard Grade level education (or equivalent), including Maths and English.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare, pharmacy or customer-facing environment.
  • Desirable
  • Experience using stock control systems.
  • Training
  • Completion of the SVQ in Pharmacy Services Group Award (SCQF Level 6).
  • Participation in an 18-month on-the-job training programme to develop full competency in the Pharmacy Support Worker role.
