Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planner to join a well-established construction contractor with a strong pipeline of work across the North East of Scotland.


This role is ideally suited to an intermediate-level Planner looking to further develop their career within a supportive and growing business. You will work closely with project teams across a range of construction projects, helping to develop and manage project programmes while gaining exposure to all stages of the project lifecycle.


The Role

As Planner, you will be responsible for supporting the planning and successful delivery of construction projects from pre-construction through to completion.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining detailed project programmes
  • Monitoring project progress against programme milestones
  • Producing regular progress reports and programme updates
  • Identifying potential delays and supporting the implementation of recovery plans
  • Assisting with tender planning and pre-construction activities
  • Working closely with project managers, site teams, and commercial departments to ensure project objectives are achieved
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of planning processes and project controls

About You

  • Previous experience in a Planner or Assistant Planner role within the construction industry
  • Good understanding of construction sequencing and project delivery
  • Experience using Asta Powerproject and/or Primavera P6
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • Ability to build positive working relationships across project teams
  • Relevant construction, engineering, or project management qualification preferred
