Full Job Description

Our commitment to delivering excellent services in ship repair, fabrication, and engineering has propelled us into new territories and projects. As a well-established and successful company, we are expanding our team due to continued growth, long-term contracts, and increased demand for our services. We are seeking Steelworker/Platers with proven experience for our busy Leith dry dock, engineering, and fabrication facility.

Ship repair background or experience and a good understanding of all fabrication trade disciplines preferred.

Be able to work under their own supervision, and as part of a team to provide a high-quality service to meet our customer expectations.

You will be working on workshop-based fabrication and welding projects, ship repair contracts in our dry dock facility working on mainly offshore supply vessels, tugs, tankers, ferries, and tugs.

The successfully candidate should ideally meet the following scope: -

  • Experience in Ship repair essential.

  • Experience in fabrication projects preferred.

  • A sound background in pipe fitting and fabrication will be required.

  • Candidates should be able to read and have a good understanding of fabrication drawings.

  • Have a full clean UK driving license, (preferred)

  • Have the right to work in the UK if not already a UK resident.

  • Have good written and spoken English.

  • Be able to work in a busy and challenging repair shipyard/ dry dock environment.

    Dales Marine Services is a well-established national Ship Repair, Fabrication, and Engineering service provider for the marine, off and on-shore oil, gas, and renewable industries.

    Be flexible when necessary to work extended shifts, with weekday overtime and weekend working at premium rates of pay, above the yard's normal 39-hour working week.

  • Be willing to work at one of our other facilities in Leith, Greenock, or Troon.

  • Be willing to travel and carry out similar tasks at other yards operated by the company or to remote locations dictated by the customer.

  • Be able to demonstrate a high commitment to Health and Safety on all our sites and those of our clients.
