Full Job Description
The PMO Lead will establish, lead, and continuously improve the Programme Management Office (PMO) function across a complex portfolio of transmission and distribution projects. The role will provide governance, controls, reporting, planning oversight, and strategic programme support to ensure successful delivery of large-scale capital projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with client stakeholders, project managers, planners, commercial teams, and delivery partners to drive consistency, transparency, and performance across the programme lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the PMO function for a major T&D infrastructure programme.
- Establish programme governance frameworks, standards, processes, and reporting structures.
- Develop and maintain integrated programme reporting across schedule, cost, risk, change, and resource management.
- Coordinate programme controls activities and ensure alignment across multiple workstreams and contractors.
- Support senior leadership with strategic programme insights and performance analysis.
- Drive programme planning and assurance activities, including stage gate reviews and delivery readiness assessments.
- Manage RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) and facilitate mitigation planning.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting to client leadership and executive stakeholders.
- Oversee document control and data management processes across the programme.
- Champion continuous improvement and PMO best practices.
- Support stakeholder engagement across internal teams, clients, regulatory bodies, and supply chain partners.
- Mentor and develop junior PMO and project controls staff where required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience leading PMO functions on large-scale infrastructure or energy programmes.
- Strong understanding of Transmission & Distribution projects, utilities, or major capital works.
- Demonstrated experience in programme governance, controls, reporting, and delivery assurance.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and PMO best practices.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary stakeholder environments.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Advanced proficiency in project controls and reporting tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Power BI, MS Project, Excel).
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, complex delivery environment.
