Principal Project Manager (Framework / Client Lead)

Experteer Overview In this role you will act as the senior, client-facing lead within a joint venture to oversee Defence Infrastructure work at scale. You will cultivate trusted relationships, align with strategic objectives, and shape delivery approaches across multiple workstreams. You'll operate across organisational boundaries without direct control of all resources, driving programme governance and continuous improvement. This is a strategic, high-visibility position with a focus on long-term framework success and growth. Pay / Benefits

• Act as senior client interface within the JV and build long-term relationships Represent Assystem in the JV, ensuring alignment with objectives and ways of working Shape delivery approaches to meet evolving client priorities Identify and develop future opportunities within the framework Foster collaboration across partner organisations and maintain a high-performing delivery culture Navigate multi-partner dynamics and influence decisions Lead governance, operations, and leadership forums for the JV Provide oversight across multiple workstreams and act as escalation point for issues Ensure mobilisation of teams and integration of in-house and supply chain capabilities Drive continuous improvement and consistency across delivery activities Contribute to account turnover, margin, and framework performance reporting Support recruitment, onboarding, and capability development for the framework Shape opportunities through Bid/No Bid decisions and support bid processes Contribute to Key Account Plans and strategic growth initiatives Promote internal collaboration, best practices, and employee engagement Provide line management as required Tasks Professionally recognised engineering or technical degree Strong understanding of the UK Defence Infrastructure sector and supply chain Experience in client-facing, framework or programme environments Experience in joint ventures, alliances, or collaborative delivery models Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capability Commercial awareness and understanding of framework delivery models Ability to influence without direct authority across organisational boundaries Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills Broad understanding of engineering, delivery and procurement processes Ability to work independently and in complex environments Key requirements employee assistance programme with mindfulness resources discount vouchers for days out and restaurants eye test and glasses vouchers cycle to work scheme free flu jabs
