Job Description
Start here. Grow here.
AECOM has recently been named as one of two Primary Designers for Scottish Water's SR27 Enterprise. This transformational, multi-billion-pound programme is the highest value venture ever put into place by Scottish Water and will reshape Scotland's water and wastewater infrastructure from 2027 to 2033 (with potential to extend for another 6 years).
We're growing our structural engineering team in Edinburgh -and this is your chance to be part of something bigger.
Join a thriving, close-knit team where your career isn't just supported-it's actively shaped. With clear pathways for professional development and progression, you'll build a future-proof career while working alongside talented, driven colleagues who value collaboration and innovation.
AECOM's Structures team is looking for passionate Principal and Associate Structural Engineers who thrive on tackling complex challenges and inspiring others. These aren't "cog in the machine" roles-you'll lead, mentor, and make a real impact. From guiding junior engineers to acting as the structural lead on diverse projects, you'll collaborate across a multidisciplinary network spanning civil, structural, MEICA, hydraulic modelling, and digital engineering.
If you're ready to stretch your expertise, lead with purpose, and see your ideas come to life on projects of all sizes, this is your opportunity.
Ready to make a difference? Join us in shaping the future of Scotland's infrastructure-and create a lasting, sustainable legacy for generations to come.
Enjoy the perks.
Become part of our dynamic Water business, which boasts around 700 experts across the UK & Ireland. You'll thrive in an inclusive and forward-thinking environment where your contributions are valued - and let's not forget the perks! You'll enjoy a range of core and personalised benefits designed to support your future and well-being, customised to fit your lifestyle. Take advantage of career development opportunities, technical practice networks, AECOM University, volunteering days and our flexible hybrid working model to ensure a work-life balance that suits you. We recognise that everyone's circumstances are different, so we're more than happy to discuss part-time or flexible working arrangements.
If you're passionate about innovation and turning bold ideas into reality, we want to hear from you.
