We are seeking an existing Principal teacher who is inspiring and forward-thinking and ready for a fresh challenge, or an experienced Teacher of Modern languages or RMPS ready to take the next step into Middle Leadership. This new postholder will establish and lead our new Faculty of Global Cultures, bringing together the departments of Modern Languages and RMPS (Religious, Moral and Philosophical Studies). This is an exciting opportunity to shape a distinctive faculty that promotes global awareness, cultural understanding, ethical thinking and communication in an increasingly interconnected world.
 
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for the faculty, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and high expectations. They will lead curriculum development across the Broad General Education and Senior Phase, with a particular focus on qualification pathways and the continued growth and evolution of our curriculum offer.
 
Fraserburgh is a recognised school of innovation and would be an excellent place to develop change leadership skills along side a successful Middle Leadership team and with a Senior Leadership team with a track record for national and international policy development.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

Please note that the grade for this position may be subject to change. Promoted Teaching Posts that meet the criteria will be resized on an annual basis, in line with the SNCT Handbook. Any grade change will be effective from 1st August each year.

Requirements

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Salary for this post will be in accordance with SNCT agreements. Applicants must be or eligible to be fully GTC Scotland registered. If you qualified as a Teacher out with Scotland, please visit GTCS – Qualified Outside Scotland and review the GTCS FAQs for more information around obtaining registration with the General Teaching Council Scotland.
