Are you a seasoned Procurement Manager looking for an exciting new opportunity? Eden Scott is delighted to partner with Peacock Salt, the UK's largest distributor of salt products, to find a dynamic and experienced professional to join their team.

The Role:

As the Procurement Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic management and control of purchasing, directly impacting the company's profitability. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead procurement and supply chain improvement projects, conduct market risk assessments, and ensure the best value and continuity of supply.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Manage purchasing reviews, tenders, and contracts.
  • Implement system reviews to optimise the procurement process.
  • Develop and execute strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing goods or services, maintaining optimal stock levels.
  • Identify and address budget risks, proposing recovery options.
  • Select suppliers that meet business needs, ensuring technical and value requirements.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance supplier performance and drive innovation.
  • Conduct regular reviews and nurture strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Monitor purchase price variances and analyse internal processes for cost reduction opportunities.
  • Manage, mentor, and support the procurement team, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (advantageous)
  • CIPS qualification or working towards it
  • Minimum 5 years of procurement and commercial experience
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management in a similar environment
  • ERP/MRP experience, particularly Navision (advantageous)
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and literacy skills
  • High standard of integrity
