About the role
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Procurement Officer to join our team and play a key role in delivering high quality, compliant procurement across the organisation.
You’ll lead and support the full end to end procurement lifecycle for designated categories of spend, from developing sourcing strategies and managing tendering processes through to contract award and contract management. Working closely with colleagues across the SSSC, you’ll provide expert procurement advice, help manage risk, and ensure procurement activity delivers best value and strong supplier performance.
You’ll also work with national procurement bodies such as Scottish Procurement, Scottish Government Procurement and Scotland Excel, promoting collaboration, compliance with frameworks and the sharing of best practice.
What you need to succeed
You’ll have significant experience in a procurement, purchasing or contract management role, with a strong understanding of public sector procurement in Scotland. You’ll be confident working across a range of stakeholders, able to provide clear, professional advice and manage multiple priorities effectively.
You’ll bring:
- Experience of delivering end to end procurement activity
- Knowledge of procurement regulations and public sector best practice
- Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build effective working relationships
- A relevant qualification (such as Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or SCQF equivalent)
