Full Job Description

Due to recent promotion, an opportunity has arisen within Medium Engine Business for a Production Cell Leader. The successful candidate will be based at the Medium Engine Business, Kirkhill Facility and will report directly to the Workshop Supervisor. The primary function will be to organise and co-ordinate the various aspects of Production work allocation / execution within the Cell and wider Engine Project when required, ensuring that it is completed in accordance with the company procedures.,

  • Plan & organise each task given to ensure that it complies with QHS&E company procedures / guidelines.

  • Ensure a high level of H & S and product quality within the Cell through effective training and competency assessment of workshop personnel.

  • Ensure correct procedures and documentation are always used.

  • Maintain tool control & stamp discipline in the Cell.

  • Provide regular feedback to Supervisor on progress of each task and escalate any issues that may impact on agreed turn times.

  • Provide handovers / updates for staff on different shifts.

  • Manages production priorities to meet predetermined schedules.

  • Carry out Engine Fitting duties as required.

  • To ensure that the correct standards of material handling are observed at all times.

  • To ensure all tooling and lifting equipment is maintained in good working order, and any deficiencies reported to a supervisor for action.

  • Provide support to the other Cells / Cell Leaders as required.

  • Shift working, including early/late shift rotation, is a requirement for this position.

    Time served Mechanical Engineer / Fitter.

  • Recognised Apprenticeship or National Certificate.

  • Several years of experience in Gas Turbine/Aero environment preferred but not essential.

  • Ability to translate technical requirements into operational instructions.

  • Good leadership, organisational, planning, communication and influencing skills.

  • Good knowledge in the use of technology; MS suit.
