Full Job Description
Are you an experienced drama Production Manager? Would you welcome some stability and a permanent role that is based at the same location every day?
River City is BBC Scotland's flagship continuing drama filmed out of Dumbarton Studios. The series shoots for two x 12 week blocks each year, with two crews operating simultaneously.
The Production Manager is a key and central role for the production. They are responsible for finding and managing crew, running the production office, line managing the Production Coordinator, Assistant Production Coordinator and Runners, and deputising for the Line Producer.
Experience of working in drama production management, ideally as Production Manager, is essential. You will be confident handling and managing issues from crew and cast, and have a proven track record for running a busy, highly efficient production office., In partnership with the River City editorial team, the Production Manager is responsible for managing all blocks through preparation, crewing and shoot. You'll ensure successful delivery of the programme to budget and schedule without sacrificing creative integrity through effective planning, monitoring and control of the production.
Maintaining a safe and healthy working environment at all times is paramount. You will be responsible for escalating issues or areas of concern, whilst also proactively looking for ways to improve efficiency within production and promote diversity and inclusion.
In addition to these duties you will be expected to support the Line Producer by taking on projects, such as Albert.,
- Please note that this is a standard Studios Production contract and potentially can involve up to 55 hours per week
Proven experience of working in drama production management, ideally as a Production Manager - Experience of supervising and line managing individuals. Creating a positive working culture and demonstrating strong leadership skills
- Experience of monitoring and managing health and safety on a production
- Demonstrable working knowledge of end-to-end multi-platform production with a significant level of technical understanding
- Effective project management skills and proven experience of delivering TV drama projects
- Experience of managing crew, including handling enquiries and providing feedback with regards to performance.
- Experience and examples of when you have had uncomfortable or difficult conversations which have led to a positive resolution
- Experience of running a busy production office
- Examples of when your organisational and planning skills have allowed you to manage multiple conflicting demands and meet deadlines
- Knowledge and passion for drama, especially for River City
