Production Operator

Ogibiotec is an Edinburgh biotech company, founded in 2020 out of biophysics research at the University of Edinburgh.

We design and build small benchtop bioreactors, along with the software that runs them, so researchers no longer have to monitor and adjust cultures by hand.

The flagship product, the OGI3, houses four independent mini reactors in one unit, with optional add-on modules for measuring things like pH, oxygen levels or fluorescence, depending on what the customer needs.

The production operator will join a small production team carrying out product assembly of a scientific instrument within the manufacturing environment at Ogibiotec. The role will also include testing, packing and shipping the product to customers.

The position requires the following skills and experience

·      Previous product assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.

·      High level of dexterity and ability to handle small components.

·      Able to interpret, receive direction and apply both written and oral communication.

·      Flexible and able to quickly learn new tasks.

·      Self motivated and able to work unsupervised.

·      Able to work in multiple areas as required.

·      Basic problem solving.

·      Data entry and basic computer skills. 

The candidate should have experience of the following essential requirements;

•  Adhering to Health and Safety Standards.
•  Maintaining required quality levels and manufacture right first-time products.
•  Following all instructions required to meet the production plan.
•  Manufacturing the product in line with Work Instructions (WI’s).
•  Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
•  Actively contribute towards improving product, process and manufacturing areas.
• Maintain and update documentation and manufacturing related records
