Full Job Description
Scottish Power Transmissions are looking for a Project Manager to join them on a 14 month initial contract., The position of Project Manager sits within SP Transmission and will report to the Lead Project Manager. In this role you'll be responsible for leading a multi-disciplined team to deliver major Capital investment projects within the SP Transmission licence area. What you'll be doing
- Responsible for the management of identified projects throughout their full lifecycle from development through to final closeout.
- Responsible for the delivery of outputs, incentive metrics and milestones in line with business targets. Effectively manage project risk and mitigate the impact of issues that may emerge.
- Responsible for the correct management and administration of contracts.
- Develop accurate capital expenditure forecasts and output projections on assigned projects, with full accountability for project, contractual and financial governance.
- Responsible for the creation, management and monitoring of project programmes.
- Promote and implement external and internal stakeholder engagement and community liaison for projects, including compliance with the SPEN Grantors Charter.
- Ensure system data and final records for all assets are entered into the corporate systems in line with required policy and associated timescales.
- Drive continual improvement by completing project and contract reviews, identifying lessons learned and sharing these with the wider business. Make proposals and introduce changes for best project management practice and behaviour across the wider project portfolio.
Significant experience managing transmission projects. - Strong understanding of procurement processes and procedures.
- Expertise in contract management (NEC, SPT D&C, JCT & FIDIC).
- Knowledge of financial control and forecasting.
- Familiarity with quality assurance processes and health, safety, and environmental legislation (especially CDM).
- Ability to devise solutions to complex problems.
- Awareness of GIS and commissioning in relation to transmission projects.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Degree in relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- Clean driving license (travel across SPEN locations required). Minimum Criteria
- Experience in a programme management environment of multiple projects and disciplines.
- Understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- Strong skills in planning, financial control, and stakeholder management.
- Experience of managing a complex programme of contracts, multiple work programmes and commercial contracts.
