Full Job Description
A growing and highly respected architectural practice are looking to bring in a Project Architect or Senior Architect to join their team. They have built a strong reputation over many years for delivering technically complex, meaningful projects across a range of sectors and are now looking for someone who enjoys leading projects, solving problems and taking ownership rather than simply becoming another number in a large studio.
This is not a practice where you will spend years delivering the same type of project repeatedly or find yourself working on a small component of something without ever seeing the bigger picture. Their work is varied, challenging and often involves projects where technical understanding, collaboration and communication are just as important as design ability.
Their portfolio spans a range of sectors including healthcare, education, commercial and wider technically demanding environments. The nature of the work means projects are often detailed and coordination-heavy, requiring somebody who enjoys working closely with clients, consultants and wider project teams to ensure successful delivery from concept through to completion.
They are looking for somebody who enjoys taking responsibility and being trusted to lead. This could suit an experienced Project Architect looking for their next move or somebody operating at Senior Architect level who wants greater involvement and influence over projects and wider team development.
You will be involved in managing and delivering projects through a variety of stages while maintaining strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders. Alongside project delivery, there will be opportunities to mentor more junior staff and play a key role in helping drive quality and consistency across the team.
The culture itself strikes a balance that many people look for but do not always find. They have the structure, stability and project pipeline of a well-established practice, but without the layers of hierarchy that can sometimes leave people feeling disconnected from the work they are doing. People are given responsibility, their opinions are listened to and they are encouraged to contribute ideas.
They are ideally looking to speak with somebody who is ARB registered and has strong experience delivering projects within the UK market. Revit experience would be beneficial, although overall project delivery experience, communication skills and the ability to manage projects effectively are likely to carry more weight.
This could be a particularly good move for somebody who enjoys architecture that is centred around problem solving and project ownership rather than simply aesthetics alone.
Salary is very much dependent on experience and they are open to conversations with the right people. If you would like to find out more, get in touch for a confidential discussion.
