The Royal College of General Practitioners is the largest membership organisation solely for GPs in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1952, it has over 55,000 members who are committed to improving patient care, developing their own skills and promoting general practice as a discipline. General practice is the largest branch of the medical profession. It provides some 1 million consultations for patients in the UK every working day and deals with 86% of the health problems experienced by the UK population.We are seeking a Projects & Initiatives Team Manager (job share) to lead a diverse portfolio of externally funded programmes. This is a strategic and hands-on role, responsible for designing, delivering and evaluating initiatives that support GPs at all stages of their careers.You will manage projects from development through to completion, ensuring strong governance, robust financial management, and clear evidence of impact. The role also involves securing new funding opportunities and building partnerships that align with our charitable aims.Key responsibilitiesLead and support a small team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive cultureOversee delivery of multiple projects, ensuring they are on time, within budget, and effectively evaluatedManage project budgets (total circa £620k) and reporting requirementsDevelop high-quality funding bids and proposalsBuild relationships with stakeholders including NHS bodies, Scottish Government and partnersPromote and communicate project impact to maximise engagementAbout youYou will be a strategic, organised and values-driven professional with experience in delivering projects and working collaboratively across sectors.You will bring:Proven project or programme management experienceExperience of team leadership or line managementStrong financial management and reporting skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsAbility to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlinesDesirable:Knowledge of primary care, NHS or health policyExperience in the charity or membership sectorProject management qualificationThis is an opportunity to lead impactful work that directly supports primary care in Scotland.The successful candidate will share our corporate values.
