The Protection Platform at Lloyds Banking Group provides Life and Critical Illness insurance to protect our customers from the unexpected events in life.

In a complex but rewarding domain, we seek to combine an intense customer focus with excellent engineering.

As an engineering lead you will build and lead teams, drive the Platform's technical and cultural direction. and manage multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Your primary responsibility will be our system of record, the heart of both our architecture and our customer proposition.

You will be a technical product owner, a team manager, and a technical strategist.

You will think strategically, understanding a complex and heterogeneous technical environment, and thus how to leverage emerging technology.

You will advise on, and make, hard prioritisation calls.

Broad and deep software engineering experience in enterprise environments.

Specific technical experience with Enterprise Java and Oracle databases.

The ability to be "hands on" - delving into the code to challenge and improve your teams' output.

Rapid learning skills - this is a sophisticated and demanding environment.

A can do' attitude to forge delivery out of ambiguity.

A passion to drive a modern and inclusive working environment.

And any experience of these would be really useful :

knowledge of the Fadata INSIS insurance process platform.

experience in the Protection industry.

examples of Oracle performance optimisation.
