St Mary’s Primary School and Polbeth Nursery provide primary education and early learning and childcare to the villages of West Calder, Polbeth and the surrounding area. The nursery is open 50 weeks per year and provides a mixture of full day and half day places for children aged 2 – 5 years. Staff work flexibly across the opening hours on a rota.
As a member of the nursery team you will work to support the provision of a high quality learning environment for all children promoting challenge, curiosity and creativity. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and reliable individual to join our support team to support learning and teaching. Under the Early Year officer’s direction they will work within the learning environment to support pupil learning, organise resources and carry out duties relating to children. They will promote an ethos of achievement through the development of positive relationships and will have due regard for the health and safety of the children they are working with.
This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment and the cost will be met by the candidate.
