Springfield Primary School is a non-denominational school serving the community of Springfield in Linlithgow. It is part of the Linlithgow Academy High School cluster. The roll of the school is 339 with pupils organised into thirteen classes. Bonnytoun ELC is located on the school grounds in a separate building, and provides early learning and child care for children aged 2-5 years. The roll of the ELC is 72 children over the course of the week.

Springfield Primary School has earned a very good reputation within the community and is well supported by the Parent Council and the wider parent forum. The Parent Council works in close partnership with the school and provides support in identifying areas for improvement. There are well developed, supportive partnerships with local groups, businesses, church and a local day care centre.

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council

This position requires registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). The successful candidate will have three months from commencement in this post to register with the SSSC and to start working towards a relevant qualification with a 5 year period. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account.
