The Role
As a Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring goods and services are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with organisational standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing day-to-day purchasing activity and associated administration with accuracy and professionalism
- Ensuring a reliable supply of high-quality goods and services to meet operational needs
- Sourcing suppliers and negotiating the best solutions across cost, quality, delivery, and service
- Building strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Supporting and coordinating third-party logistics activity
- Monitoring and providing feedback on approved supplier performance
- Supporting wider procurement activities and projects as required
- Occasional travel when necessary
Essential:
- Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role
Desirable:
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- A proactive, organised approach with strong attention to detail
