Full Job Description

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll make sure our projects, processes and supply chain meet the standards that matter - safeguarding people, performance and the mission. You'll provide Business Management System governance, lead on non-conformance management, and drive improvements that help our teams deliver for national defence. Day-to-day you'll be required to:

  • Deliver BMS governance and lead non-conformance management to meet cost, time and quality commitments.
  • Advise on change and continuous improvement across the Infrastructure Directorate and its supply chain.
  • Implement Safety, Quality and Environmental policies, ensuring risk assessments lead to safe working practices.
  • Produce project Quality Plans and secure stakeholder agreement ahead of delivery.
  • Support the corporate audit programme, reporting outcomes and tracking corrective and preventive actions.
  • This role is full time, 36 hours per week Monday to Thursday 07:15 - 16:45 and is based on site at HMNB Clyde Faslane.

    Essential experience of the Quality Assurance Engineer
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality-managed environment
  • Evidence of supporting varied engineering, process and quality management issues of differing complexity.
  • Strong working knowledge of Quality Management and Quality Assurance practices, tools and techniques.
  • Understanding of risk management, procurement processes, programme management and regulatory requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with product investigation techniques and root cause analysis.
  • Qualifications for the Quality Assurance Engineer
  • HNC in a relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent)
  • Lead Auditor training - Desirable
  • CQI Level 3 Certificate - Desirable
  • Chartered Member of CQI - Desirable
  • Train-the-Trainer - Desirable

    The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
