Job Vacancy

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and motivated Quality Assurance Officer to join our supportive and well-integrated health and social care teams. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our services not only meet but exceed the national standards set by the Care Inspectorate Quality Framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit & Monitoring: Conduct regular, robust audits of Self-Directed Support (SDS) Option 2 providers to ensure service delivery aligns with individual outcomes.
- Service Oversight: Monitor and review Extra Care housing services, ensuring a high standard of health, safety, and wellbeing for all tenants.
- Case Reviews: Undertake detailed reviews of individual packages of care to ensure they remain person-centred and effective
- Professional Collaboration: Work closely with the Care Inspectorate, health professionals, and social care teams to drive continuous service improvement.
Essential
HNC or equivalent level qualification in Social Care or related subject.
An understanding of compliance with standards within a quality framework, service standards and performance indicators.
Competency in communication, presentational and interpersonal skills and strong organisational and analytical skills.
PC/keyboard skills and competency in the use of Microsoft office suite or equivalent applications are essential, as well as the ability to transfer skills to use a range of other software applications.
Essential understanding of Adult Social Care and Health and Community service systems, and awareness of transition and complex connections, relationships, and pathways between services.
Car driver and access to own vehicle.
Desirable
Knowledge of care at home and care home working practices in both Local Government provision and the independent sector.

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.
Based on 36 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £35,409.35 per annum.
Requirements
This post is considered Regulated Work with Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with Protected Adults.
Successful candidates will require PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with Protected Adults, You will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment with Midlothian Council, the cost of which will be met by you.
