Full Job Description

Due to company growth, we are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of our commercial strategy. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting our Head of Utilities ensuring all our tenders are legally compliant, competitive and profitable for our business.

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor who has experience in the Utilities industry, with a bias towards the electric sectors. Training and support will be available; however, you will come with extensive knowledge of Utility projects and be able to demonstrate your expertise on such projects, with a focus primarily being aimed towards main and service pipes replacement.

Duties will include:

  • Building relationships with existing and potential clients, representing Civile Ltd at all times with a professional approach to communication.

  • Briefing all necessary personnel within the Civile Ltd on both the opportunities and risks in client contracts.

  • Supporting Civile Ltd with our bid process and highlight any risks with documentation and terms and conditions.

  • Accurately tender jobs from construction drawings, site visits and both internal and external meetings.

  • Identify, manage and submit Early Warning Notices and manage the EWN process.

  • Manage the contracts Supply Chain with regards to subcontractor costs and invoicing.

  • Contribute to optimization of project profitability

  • Identify, develop and implement opportunities for efficiencies in all cash-flow related processes.

  • Review and approve weekly applications and invoicing for our clients.

  • Create cost reports and deftly control.

  • Forecast revenue based on agreed programmes of work.

    Due to the nature of not only the role but also our business, we are looking for someone who is motivated, energetic and thrives on taking ownership and responsibility. The successful candidate will also:

  • Have at least 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the utilities industry.

  • Have a Multi Utility background with a bias towards electric industry in distribution.

  • Understand NEC3/ 4 Contract.

  • Have a great attention to detail, be extremely organised and be able to work under pressure.

  • A full UK Driving License.
