Hays Construction Consultants are delighted to be partnering with a well established Tier 2 main contractor to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor based in Glasgow.

Your new role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key commercial role in the delivery of public‑sector projects across education, healthcare and community infrastructure. Responsibilities will include:

• Commercial management of live projects from pre contract through to final account
• Procurement and management of subcontract packages
• Cost control, forecasting and reporting
• Preparation and agreement of valuations, variations and final accounts
• Building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners

Projects are well resourced and sensibly programmed, allowing you to focus on quality delivery rather than firefighting.

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment
• Exposure to public sector or traditionally procured projects
• Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills
• A collaborative mindset that fits a relationship driven business
