Full Job Description
Our client, a well-established construction and fit-out specialist, is currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
Operating across the UK, they deliver a diverse portfolio of fit-out, refurbishment, facilities management, commercial furniture, and minor works projects valued up to £5 million.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring costs are effectively controlled while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend site surveys and assist with the preparation of cost estimates and project budgets.
- Procure subcontractors and suppliers and prepare contractual documentation.
- Assess and certify subcontractor interim applications for payment.
- Prepare interim valuations and final account submissions.
- Manage and value project variations.
- Assist with the preparation of Extension of Time claims and Loss & Expense submissions.
- Identify and manage commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Produce accurate monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports and forecasts.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support collaboration between commercial and operational teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Candidate Requirements
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
- Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction sector.
- Strong working knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract.
- Excellent commercial awareness and cost management skills.
- Experience preparing take-offs and pricing variations independently.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and IT skills.
- A proactive approach with the ability to take ownership of responsibilities.
- Flexibility to travel to project sites as required.
