Full Job Description

As a Rail Track Assistant, you'll work as part of an experienced operational team delivering track renewal and maintenance works. You'll support daily site activities, follow safe systems of work, and contribute to keeping the rail network running reliably. Day-to-day, you will:

  • Support the delivery of track renewal and maintenance work on site
  • Follow instructions from Supervisors and Senior Track Assistants
  • Use tools and small plant equipment safely and correctly
  • Carry out general site duties to support rail operations
  • Work in line with railway rules, regulations, and health & safety requirements.

    A strong team player with good communication skills
  • A safety-focused mindset and willingness to follow procedures
  • Ability to take instruction and work effectively in an operational environment
  • Willingness to learn new skills and undertake training.
  • Previous rail experience is desirable but not essential - training will be provided., We value difference and don't have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and/or willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.

    This is a full-time, permanent role, working 35 hours per week on a roster that includes days, nights, weekends, and shift working.
