Trust is a not-for-profit registered social landlord, regulated by the Scottish Housing Regulator, Care Inspectorate and Scottish Charities Regulator (OSCR). We are a national organisation and one of the largest housing, support and care providers in Scotland offering a range of housing and support services across the length and breadth of the country. Trust was established in 1973 and has now evolved and grown to over 3,600 social rented homes and delivering services to over 4,000 customers.

Our primary social rented offer includes general needs housing for households of all ages and specialist housing for older people (circa 3,600 units). In addition, we provide some mid-market homes (circa 56 units) and shared ownership (circa 38 units). We also act as a property manager for homeowners and sharing owners in areas where we have an interest (circa 381 units).

We are looking for a new Reactive Repairs & Maintenance Inspector to join our growing Assets & Sustainability Team. The postholder will ensure high quality reactive repairs and maintenance services ensuring that our customer's homes are maintained to a high standard and are compliant with contractual, legislative, and regulatory requirements, whilst also providing a 10/10 customer experience.,

  • Carry out regular inspections of all homes/developments within a designated area to ensure that the fabric, fittings, services and grounds are properly maintained and fit for purpose and that all information relating to them held on our databases and at the development is up to date.


  • Be the face of Trust and regularly communicate with customers (and/or their legally appointed representatives), colleagues, contractors and other stakeholders as necessary in respect of their homes/ Trust property.


  • Take ownership of property/asset related complaints within a designated area and ensure the complaint is dealt with within prescribed timescales and that the customer (or legally appointed representative) is kept up to date with progress and informed of the outcome.


  • Carry out annual risk assessments as required and prepare reports of the findings, including timeous updating of risk assessment databases.


  • Ensure that any actions identified from risk assessments are managed through to completion on time and relevant systems/databases updated.


  • Carry out regular quality control reviews to monitor timescales for reactive repairs and void works and carry out inspections on a pre and post completion basis to monitor contractors' performance and quality of work.


  • Initiate appropriate action timescales and/or quality are not being achieved by contractors


  • Provide performance data, input and support to commercial meetings with Trust's contractors and other main contractors to monitor performance.

    Trust operates a blended/hybrid working approach and you will have the opportunity to work flexibly from both a remote location ('home') and your contractual workplace ('office') should you choose to do so. We have offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Wishaw and the base for this role is our office in Glasgow.
