Full Job Description
Every day, our work brings us closer to a future where everybody can live longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer. As a Legacy Relationship Manager, you'll play a vital role in making that future possible by building meaningful relationships with supporters and helping them understand the life-changing impact a gift in their Will can make. This is far more than a fundraising role. You'll act as an ambassador for Cancer Research UK, inspiring supporters through powerful conversations, delivering exceptional experiences, and building lasting relationships within local communities. Combining ambition, compassion and professionalism, you'll support individuals in making one of the most significant charitable decisions of their lifetime, ensuring they feel valued, informed and connected to our mission. What will I be doing?
- Build and nurture meaningful relationships with supporters, prospects, organisations and community groups, inspiring long-term engagement with Cancer Research UK and Legacy giving.
- Manage a portfolio of supporters, providing personalised stewardship, tailored communications and exceptional supporter experiences that maximise lifetime value.
- Act as the face of CRUK's Legacy team across Scotland and Northern Ireland, attending supporter meetings, events and engagement activities throughout the region.
- Deliver sensitive conversations around Wills, legacy planning and end-of-life giving with empathy, professionalism and confidence.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Supporter Relationships and the wider organisation to develop innovative campaigns, events and supporter journeys.
- Monitor performance against targets, maintain accurate supporter records and contribute to the growth of CRUK's Legacy pipeline and income.
Proven experience in relationship management, fundraising, community engagement, supporter development or a similar customer-facing environment. - Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and inspire a wide range of audiences through face-to-face, telephone and written interactions.
- Emotional intelligence and resilience, with confidence handling sensitive and personal conversations around topics such as family, bereavement, Wills and future giving.
- Strong organisational skills and self-motivation, able to manage a busy workload, work independently and identify new opportunities across a large geographical area.
- Willingness and ability to undertake extensive regional travel, including occasional evening and weekend events where required.
- A passion for Cancer Research UK's mission and the ability to communicate our impact in a compelling and inspiring way. Our organisation values are designed to guide all that we do. Bold: Act with ambition, courage and determination Credible: Act with rigour and professionalism Human: Act to have a positive impact on people Together: Act inclusively and collaboratively We're looking for people who can believe in and embody these organisation values and can use them to drive forward progress against our mission to beat cancer.
