Full Job Description

You will work on a relief / casual basis within the care home which includes, early shifts, late shifts and a period of night duty, unsocial hours will be paid at basic rate plus 1/3 hourly rate. An exciting opportunity has arisen for skilled and enthusiastic individuals to join our care home team in Fife Council's Residential and Day Services. We are looking for motivated and driven individuals with good values and a genuine interest in the care and support of older people within the care homes. This will involve providing positive support and encouragement for people to make their own choices and decisions in all aspects of their daily lives, as well as providing flexible support to enable the service users to access activities and achieve their personal outcomes. This will involve promoting social inclusion by working with service users to maximise their personal independence, health, wellbeing and access service opportunities in their local communities. The care homes in Fife provide ongoing care and support to vulnerable older people: the care home also supports a respite, STAR unit and a day service.   • Must have or be able to work towards the required qualification SVQ 2, as required by the Scottish Social Services Council. Within the timeframes set at point of registration, once qualification achieved it is the person's responsibility to inform Scottish Social Services Council accordingly.
  • Provide care and support which meets the Health and Social Care standards.
  • Must be able to work with other Council services and partner agencies to support the effective planning and delivery of care and support within our service.
  • You should be able to work flexibly and creatively within a dynamic and ambitious team.
